Journal of International Psychiatry
Anxiety disorder is a combination of diseases with high frequency of occurrence. It can cause severe or serious disorder to the mental state and physical body and at the same time makes the patient and even the society greatly burdened. However, current therapeutic efficacy is not considered to reach the optimal condition because of the low remission of the cases. The conclusion from the recent researches indicates that good efficacy and tolerability has been achieved in the treatment of the patients with GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) by only Quetiapine and Quetiapine combined with anti-depressive drugs respectively. It seems that the adjunctive therapy mentioned above can function better than monotherapy by Quetiapine only. Close inspection of the side effects from metabolism shows Quetiapine has much better therapeutic effects in the treatment of GAD.
